Your Thoughts Can Determine Your Actions

When you think about the buzz words "health", "nutrition", and "wellness", where does your mind go? What thoughts do you have?

Would you do me (and yourself) a favor and jot some of these down real quick? Just trust me on this. This is the type of exercise that shouldn't cause a sweat.



  • I don't have time to deal with my health right now.

  • Health food is so expensive, so why bother?

  • Ugh, I don't know, I can't add another thing to my plate.

  • There's too much conflicting information out there. I don't know where to start.

  • I don't have time to meal plan or cook everything from scratch.

  • Every time I start a "program", I end up going back to my old ways anyway.

  • I'm so over dieting!

  • I'm triggered just thinking about these words!

  • I really want to do something about my health, but it's just so overwhelming.

  • I've been trying to find answers but no one seems to know what's going on with me or they say it's all in my head.

  • I just can't afford this right now.

Do any of these resonate with you? Yeah, that's because you're not alone in your thoughts. So many women struggle to prioritize their health for these and other reasons you may have come up with.



If you're a mom, do you find it easier to prioritize your children's health? Your answer is likely "yes." Why is that?

I've certainly been there. And I've had to ask myself why it's so much easier to make the effort for my kids but not myself - their caretaker.



But there was a time in my life where I HAD to start addressing my health because it was starting to affect my parenting, my marriage, and truthfully, my ability to function in general.

And what it really came down to for me was something I talk a lot about with my clients - BELIEF - Belief in myself and belief in what is possible.

This wasn't an easy thing to change at first, because for so long, I struggled to believe in myself. And this is so interesting because I have always been an accomplished person.

But over time, I learned to change the tape that was playing in my head and today, I can hardly hear that old voice in my head telling me "I can't do this" or "I'm not worth the effort".

And when I changed these thoughts, my life (and those in my life) changed as well - for the better!

I am in no way an advocate for a selfish pursuit of personal health that leaves everyone else in your life floundering in your tracks.

BUT I 100% recognize that if you are struggling, everyone else who depends on you will overcompensate in some way, and it will likely be unhealthy for them too.



So where am I going with all this?

You are absolutely worth the investment you will make in your health and everyone who depends on you is worth the time and effort as well!
